Slippery Slope

My weight is creeping up. Slowly. And yet? I just ate six peanut butter filled Hershey's kisses. Which, by the way, if you have not had them, are divine.

I'm feeling very apethetic about dieting. Because I'm running. Make that running! A lot! Four days a week, including one long run every Sunday morning (6 miles yesterday, 7 miles next Sunday). And all of this running makes me feel very entitled... entitled to eat whatever the hell I want to eat. And let's not even discuss this weekend's alcohol intake. Yes, it was a festive weekend. But still. Apparently I lack whatever component of our DNA controls moderation. Moderation. I don't even like the way the word sounds. It's a creepy word.

So there. It's out there. I am gaining weight. I need to get it in check. So now I am proclaiming myself accountable to the Internet. Gah.

I'm right in the lack of moderation/gaining weight thing with you. It is wrong for you to be doing so much running and still gain weight. Just wrong.

I've been struggling to lose weight and realized a couple of weeks ago that my booze intake is not helping.

Which makes me sound like an alcoholic.

Great. Pudgy and drunk...

:)

Here's to a better week. I'm going to pretend I didn't hear about those dang kisses.

Peanut butter filled Hershey's kisses.

Moderation is not possible with such delights.

Sorry. So much for the internet holding you accountable.

I'm right there with you, sister on the booze thing. I mean - do I really need to drink several of my Friday cocktails just because I post the recipes on my blog? Oh and the I can eat what I want because I run thing....we used to eat these massive breakfasts after our long training runs because, hey we just ran 18 miles. Come to find out a breakfast of bologna bagel sanwiches and State Fair sausage on a stick (wrapped in a pancake - think corn dog) and several glasses of champagne is about 3,000 calories. Did I lose weight?? Ummm no.

G the answer is interval training. When I was running 20 miles a week, I too put on weight and then I started interval training and walah!

I know what you mean about the entitlement. I am so the same way. And then I am in big trouble when I decide to take a little break from running. Because I still keep eating. Ack!
