What's a girl to do?

This afternoon I am finding myself in a seriously strange position.  Not that kind of position. Get your minds out of the gutter... sheesh.

Sunday we had an open house. Since then, a lack of children and an abundance of heat-induced apathy = my house is still clean. Near-spotless clean, actually.

Last night I caught up on all of my hold orders for work.  All. Of. Them. I? Have nothing in the in-box, nothing in the hopper, nothing pending and no pages due. At. All.

I picked Carlie up from the Girl Scout camp bus stop at the right time this afternoon, 3:45 p.m., and she has dance class at 8:30 p.m.

It's 4:00 and between now and then? I've got nothing to do. Nothing. No dirty clothes to wash. No clean clothes to fold. No transcripts to proofread.  No proofs to edit. Floors are swept. Counters are clear. The dishwasher is even empty.

I am walking a fine line right now between giddy and disoriented.

I never have nothing to do. Never. Does. Not Happen. So I'm not sure what to do with myself.

I think I'll watch the newest episode of True Blood, shop online for a Merlotte's tee-shirt and then? Read a library book. All while running the AC nonstop and basking in the artificial coolness. Perhaps throw in a touch of loafing and possibly some snacking.

Happy summer to me.

UPDATE: It's been an hour and I? could seriously get used to this

UPDATE 2: Nearly two hours of nothing. Dare I say it? I'm bored!

Enjoy this while it lasts. Meanwhile, I'll be over here basking in envy.
