Tag... you're it

Tiffany tagged me for an award! And it's an ass patch for my jeans... which, as I said to Tiffany, I would totally love to print out on iron-on transfer paper and actually wear on my ass! Except that I am lazy and slightly craft-retarded.

I am supposed to pass it on to ten people, link to their blogs and then comment on their blogs informing them of the honor of joining the sisterhood ass patch for your jeans award sorority.

To shake things up a little bit, I decided to go with the last 10 commenters on my blog who have blogs of their own. So step up, sisters, and accept your ass patch award!

Post it on your site, then tag other blogs. If you want to continue my trendy trend, make it the lat 10 commenters on your blog : )

Ten on Tuesday

I'm going to give this a shot. Because? I got nothing. Nothing to say. Nothing fun going on. Nothing but a bad attitude towards work and building stress with regard to my upcoming trip. Because that's how I roll. Whenever I have big plans, like a big party or a trip, even though it's 100% enjoyable, I turn into a raging freakazoid fireball of stress for the week beforehand. How cute is that?

Only thing new to report is I did yoga with Carlie yesterday for five minutes, held a plank for a nanosecond and now? My stomach feels like I did a zillion crunches. So very sad.

So I'm going to use the Ten on Tuesday prompts. This week the prompt is 10 Favorite Children's Movies. Of all the weeks to try to start this prompt, I get children's movies? Because I don't really "do" children's movies. Crap. This will be a stretch.

So instead of trying to think of the 10 least detestable movies I've endured with my children, I'm going to go with the 10 best movies and shows that I remember from my own  childhood.

1. Escape to Witch Mountain, 1975. I was nine years old and I lived and breathed this movie. Loved it. I don't know that I've ever gone as bonkers for another movie. Maybe Grease?
2. The Partridge Family. All I lived for was to have Susan Dey's hair. And to make out with David Cassidy.

3. The Kroft Superstar Hour, later known as the Bay City Rollers Show. OMG. S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT. Need I say more.
4. Speed Racer. Best cartoon. Ever. Came on after school, and I remember hauling ass from the bus to be in on time to watch it. Speed was my first animated crush. I hated Ace Deucey.
5. HR Pufnstuf. I think this came before Kroft Superstar Hour? I remember it as being its own show though. What I mostly remember is a character called Witchy Poo. She was my fave.
6. The Bicentennial Minute. The year? 1976. The celebration of the bicentennial. And the Bicentennial Minute was a series of little factoid commercials that came on in prime time as I recall. Each one was narrated by a mega cool TV or movie star. The other thing I remember vividly about 1976, I was 10 years old, was my dad hanging red, white and blue wallpaper in our kitchen. With minutemen on it. My dad? Color blind. The wallpaper? More ghetto than anything I'd ever seen before or have seen since. I think I have a photo somewhere. I'll find it and scan it. You'll die.

7. Schoolhouse Rock. LOVED SHR. My favorites were Conjunction Junction, I'm Just a Bill and the 3's multiplication.
8. Soul Train. I loved Don Cornelius and the Sooooooooooul Train. My favorite part was the showcase section when each couple went down the line doing their own thing.

9. Paper Moon. I wanted to be a con girl so badly.
10. Every single Afterschool Special Ever Made. The hokier, the better. This is probably the root of my love for cheezy made for TV movies even to this day. Oh, Lifetime Movies, how I do miss you.

Me Be An Award Winner

I received this blog award from Cat. Thanks, Cat! It means I am among the coolest blogs she ever know. I think the grammatical error gives the award a down-home charm, and is not a secret message to me to improve my grammar.

Now I need to pass it on to 10 people. And then they pass it on to 10 people. When you pass it on you need to: post it to your blog and link to me, then link to the 10 blogs you're sending it to, then comment on those 10 blogs to let them know you did it.

Apparently Cat is also trying to tell me that along with improving my grammar, I have way too much time on my hands. I'm not going to link to anyone that I just recently tagged with a meme. Because I want them to still like me and be my friends and not think I am turning into a chain letter sending freak. And I won't link to anyone who I see that Cat has already given this to. And I won't link to anyone who I know will suffer a small stroke if they are forced to endure improper grammar usage. So here goes:

Those are all people in my blog roll. If I started going through my blog reader, we'd be here all morning. And don't even get me started on my bookmarks. Point being: I like to read blogs. And these are some that I especially like to read.

Addictions meme

Chacha at Chasing Imperfection tapped me for this meme the other day, and I've been pondering my addictions ever since. Because addictive personality? Hello. More like obsessions. And compulsions. And speaking of which... five new followers? Please? Before I have to create faux profiles and follow myself to make my followers icons line up properly. Thanks.

The rules are list five things that I am addicted to and then pass it on to five more blogs. So here goes...

1. Diet coke. I have tried to shake it, but I just can't. It is the sweet nectar of the God's and my life would be incomplete without it. Don't judge me. In my defense, I drink coffee maybe once or twice a week, sometimes not at all, so the DC is my caffeine fix for the day. I SAID DON'T JUDGE ME.

2. Running. Definitely more of a compulsion than an addiction, but since I started running I feel compelled to push it. I started out with the goal of a 5k and am now training for a half marathon. Running should be considered a good and healthy habit, but the reason I am listing it here is because I have such a messed up mental process around it. First of all, I have yet to experience any kind of runners high. And the entire time I am running? I am consciously thinking the whole time WHY AM I RUNNING? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? THIS SUCKS! Seriously. And yet I get up and do it again. In fact, when I finish this post I am going for my longest ever run, seven miles. If I die, someone please feed my cats. Oh, and my kids.

3. This is definitely more in the OCD category, but I finish every book I start. No matter how bad it is. And then? If it is part of a series, I read the whole series. NO MATTER HOW BAD IT IS. Believe me, you do not want to live your life this way.

4. Perez Hilton and celebrity gossip as a whole. I am not proud, but, damn it, I neeeeed to know what Brad and Ange are up to this weekend. And how Jen feels about it. And who wore what.

5.  The blogosphere. More than posting (which, hello, prolific and need to get a life, I know), I spend way TOO MUCH TIME reading other blogs and commenting, and way TOO MUCH TIME trying to come up with clever and witty comments than garner me accolades like comment of the week. My work productivity is way down since I discovered how much fun blogs are. Not to mention the laundry situation. We won't even go there.

And now to share the love... how about...

... because they are my happy hour homegirls. And I like the way the names line up. Seriously.

The bloggiest day ever

In all things bloggy, I am golden right now.  I had a great meet up with other bloggers, like in person! I have been chosen as the comment of the week (on this post) by the world's greatest blogger, June at Bye Bye Pie! And now I have been tagged for my first meme by Bad Mom. I am on a bloggy roll.

1. Real moms don't flinch when they talk about boobs. They do make you laugh your brains out.
4. Real moms juggle.
9. Real moms give good advice. Really, kids, you should listen.
10. TAGGED PEOPLE, INSERT YOUR STUFF HERE

I tag:
Feener, Mommy Vents
Anna See, Inch of Gray
Oliver Rain, Oliver Rain
Keetha, Write Kudzo
and Cat, My Name is Cat
And there are other people I want to tag, but I am tired of inserting links, so, please, tag yourself. Tag you.  Tag off.

Rules are below.

Oh, and yes, there are two No. 3s above. I do not know why. I just copied it as is. And yes, I am tech challenged, so I had to manually recreate all of the links because I could not figure out how to copy and paste the list with links intact. And yes, I am now already sick of this meme before even making my contribution because I turned it into way too much work.

But you have fun!

The rules: Copy the above text to our blog, leaving all links intact, and add in who tagged you. Add your "real mom" contribution to the list. Tag as many moms as you can.
