Special Persons Breakfast

Tomorrow is the Special Person's Breakfast at Carlie's school. Each kid invites someone that they want to show their school to. You know, like a grandparent or an aunt. Except my kid? She's got mom and dad and that's pretty much it.

So she invited her teacher. Okay. Her teacher has probably pretty much already seen her school and classroom. But whatever. So we're covered for the special person.

Except her teacher? Was out sick today. Again. And Carlie, not one to miss out on a free breakfast, thought fast on her feet.

And asked the substitute teacher to be her special person if Miss B. is still sick tomorrow.

She doesn't even know the substitute teacher's name. I'm kind of thinking Carlie is the "special" one in this scenario.

Aw, Carlie sounds like a sweetie! I think most kids would be horrified at the thought of randomly inviting their substitute teacher to anything.

I think she is special. Enjoy.

It sounds like she learned how to suck up to teachers early. This could come in very handy later in life.

Y'know, I didn't know my future husband's last name when I agreed to go out with him the first time. Imagine my surprise later on.
