Post No. 797... and a question for you

This is my house. It? Is lovely. Really.

Since the big let's sell our house experiment ended in fail, we've decided to refinance our house, which ALMOST makes the mortgage payment equal to the rent we'll be receiving. Almost. But not quite. Don't get me wrong, by rental standards, we're renting the house for what the fair market rental price for a fabulous house in a fabulous area. It's not the renters fault that our mortgage payment is humongous. But I digress...

As part of the refi, we had to have an appraisal. A real appraisal, where they guy comes inside and everything. I point this out, because in the past we've done refis that only required a drive by appraisal. Anyway, we got the results of our appraisal and it's now official that we have almost zero equity in our house. Thanks, economy!

So in an effort to (a) procrastinate the start of my workday (b) avoid packing and (c) seek a little self-help love to balance the fail, I was surfing my favorite *you're good enough, you're smart enough and, gosh darn it, people like you* web sites. What, you don't have a bookmark for that? And I came across this question, which I now ask of you:

What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?

My immediate answer was: build a time machine, go back to Friday and NOT eat the WHOLE BAG of bbq kettle chips.

That's probably not the kind of thing the author of the question was thinking of. So I stopped and gave it some more thought. And came up with:

Train for a marathon
Write a novel

And now, your turn: What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?

You can answer in the comments, or give it some real thought and blog about it, and link us to your answer on your blog.

Imagine, a bunch of bloggers who want to write books.

I would ask Jeff Goldblum to marry me.

Same as you, only without the marathon.

Oh, and also audition for a Broadway musical.

The marathon is easy - it's the training that sucks but you can do it - really - if I can you can. And my answer is over at my blog..

i will love and support you in pretty much any endeavor you embark upon, but....let it be said that marathons and that whole running idea? yeah. not me. but i will be on the side of the road shouting your name and handing you water....just so you know.

what would i do?
easy one....i would open a little shop where i sold handmade items (my own and my talented friends'), i'd also have a "drink and sweet" of the day that my students would buy and part of the cost would include an English lesson.
