Election Day Anxiety

I am very keyed up and anxious over today's election. To the point of actually being kind of a nervous freak about the whole thing.

I'm not really prone to this type of anxiety generally. I think part of the problem is that during the last presidential election, I was so 100% certain that John Kerry was going to take it and the shock of that "loss" freaked me out. Now I am afraid to be optimistic and trying to avoid an anxiety attack. Perhaps a valium would be in order?

Other people are writing some really wonderful and inspiring posts about patriotism and democracy and here I am, turning Super Tuesday into another platform for my neuroses. Oy. I so need to get over myself.

It is amazing that so many of the American electorate felt just like you up until Obama won...yes, me, too! In fact, I couldn't start to truly relax until he had won Ohio and I had two *Obamartinis* in me. It was definily a huge anxiety-inducing election.
BTW, I stumbled on your blog through the Friday Fill-in blog.
